If you click the link in this email, you will be exposed to some hardcore truth about God’s word.
Today’s email has to come with a warning.
HARDCORE ALERT!
If you click the link in this email, you will be exposed to some hardcore truth about God’s word.
So the real question today is… should you click the link?
Let me put it to you this way…
- Anyone comfortable with their Christian walk as it is today who don’t think any kind of improvement or change is needed, shouldn’t click the link.
- People who go to church and zone out or sleep, or attend just to keep a “special someone” happy, shouldn’t click the link.
- If a person hasn’t opened their Bible in over a month, don’t know where it is at the moment or think it’s covered in a layer of dust, definitely don’t click the link.
- Anyone who thinks going to church is the sum total of their “Christian duty” – even if they show up late or leave early, then by all means they should avoid the link.
- If someone’s friends or coworkers don’t know that they’re a Christian and have a different frame of reference shouldn’t click the link.
- If “salvation” is in the same category as life insurance or car insurance – something a person has “just in case”, don’t click the link.
- People who prefer to read feel-good books in the “spirituality” category that profess a biblical perspective, but mostly serve to tell you you’re doing all right or that you’ll be ok, definitely don’t click the link.
- Anyone who has built their life in a way to make themself look good, feel good or avoid conflict, don’t click the link.
If any of these statements are true about you, this link is going to make you angry, upset or depressed. Don’t click it. Even though you probably need what it says worse than anyone else on my mailing list.
On the other hand…
- If you’re hungry to grow in your faith and want to be on a spiritual trajectory “upward and to the right”, definitely click the link.
- If you love biblical exegetical teaching and completely go all in on scripture, click the link for sure.
- If you read your Bible regularly and find inspiration and clarity in life from what you find, then you’ll love what’s on the other side of that link.
- If you regularly tell others what you believe and where your hope lies, then you’ll be happy to click the link.
- If you go to church because that’s where you get encouraged to live a holy life and find mentors and role models for life, then this link will make you smile.
- If hearing, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” is your life aspiration then click the link and revel in what you hear.
- If you regularly review your life to make sure no wicked practices, impure thoughts or evil motivations have crept in, this link will lead you to some encouraging stuff!
- If you realize that you’re in the spiritual battle of your life against principalities, powers, spiritual forces of wickedness in high places, then this link could be a life-saver for you.
What is the link I’ve been talking about?
https://christchurchaz.subspla.sh/t6hwwxx
It’s a link to the recording of the sermon from last weekend’s service at my church.
The subject: Spiritual Warfare – The Armor of God.
What I really want you to do is jump to the 34:34 mark. That’s where Pastor Adam starts to talk about the Sword of the Spirit.
Pay special attention to when he starts to make Practical Suggestions (about 42:40). I wrote them all down in my notes from the sermon. It’s take-it-to-the-bank-money. If you just did one, it would change your life to be more like Jesus.
Sitting in service, I was shocked and delighted by the bluntness and the directness with which he spoke. It spoke to me where my heart is most tender.
I want to encourage you about God’s word. I write books about understanding the Bible. I love to study scripture myself. So after I recovered from the shock of his words, I just wanted to shout out, “Preach it brother!”
But like I said. Be warned. He pulls no punches. And he might step on some toes.
But at the same time, he points the way to the straight and narrow path that is so hard to find and tempting to stray from.
Perhaps this will be just the encouragement that you need in your spiritual walk today.
I can’t predict how God might use this 12 minute segment to impact you. What I will promise you is that you’ll leave the video feeling SOMETHING. And how you respond to that will make all the difference.
You’ve been warned, now go forth and grow!
Until next time.
Dennis
