That thing you want or wish for in your spiritual life, but despair that you’ll never experience.
Have you given up on your dream?
HI ,
Do you remember when you were a kid and you thought about what you wanted to be when you grew up? Back then you didn’t know how to limit your dreams.
So you dreamed of big and crazy jobs.
I specifically remember wanting to be a paleontologist. Yep. I wanted to study dinosaurs. I was completely obsessed with them. I learned as much as I could about them. I could name them from the tiniest glimpse in a book.
I’m not a paleontologist today. Somewhere along the way that dream died like the dinosaurs I wanted to study.
Secretly I still think the terrible lizards are cool. But the dream has lost its grip on me and I’ve come to realize that digging up a fully grown archaeopteryx is not part of my future.
The same thing can happen to us spiritually. Once upon a time we were vibrant and full of spiritual life. Did you have a dream then of how you wanted to be spiritually? Was there an image of yourself that really appealed to you once upon a time?
Perhaps you dreamed of memorizing a book of the Bible. Maybe it was reading through your entire Bible every year. Or it could be that you wanted a vibrant prayer life that started every day on your knees.
What was your spiritual dream. Could you be brave enough right now to speak it out loud?
I’d love to hear your spiritual dream. What is is that you wanted once upon a time?
Do this right now: Reply to this email and tell me about your spiritual dream.
I promise not to laugh at you. On my honor I will not shame you. I won’t make fun of you or your dream.
I want to hear these dreams because they don’t really die… and sometimes we can bring them back to life. And I’d like to see you on a journey to fulfill that spiritual dream and become the person God wants you to be.
I’m listening…
Dennis
