Almost 5 years ago, I released my second book, Study the Bible – Six Easy Steps. It’s a book that I believe deeply in. And since then, more than 7,000 people have purchased it and benefitted from it (if the reviews are to be believed).
But I’ve learned a lot since May of 2018, and I knew that I couldn’t just stay static. Eventually that path leads to irrelevance.
So today I want to announce a series of changes to the book. I’ve opened a whole new world of possibility and I’m excited about it. I want to share some of this with you so you’ll understand how this changes things moving forward.
I’ve just finished releasing the Second Edition of the book. This includes a number of changes designed to make it more useful to everyone who reads it.
What you’ll see (or not see) in the Second Edition:
- I removed the study of Titus that occupied the last 4 chapters of the book. More on that in a moment.
- I split the old Chapter 6 into 2 chapters: One focused on the Six Easy Steps method (6) and one focused on study resources (7)
- I added 3 brand new chapters that speak explicitly to how to structure your Bible study experience. The Six Easy Steps method deals with the main six steps of Bible study, but it doesn’t say exactly how you should organize them. These 3 chapters go into great detail about that.
- I’ve formally added an explanation of the wrap-up process. If you’ve done the email studies of 1 Timothy or Ruth, you know that I added that step – It’s detailed in the 3rd chapter I added.
- I’ve updated the Study Planreference sheet to reflect these 3 new pieces of information.
- I’ve updated the Study Template to reflect the new wrap-up step.
- I’ve updated the Workbook to address these new chapters.
- I added a brand new email study for Titus that goes into a lot more detail about how to do the study than what was in the book itself.
- I’ve augmented the email study of Titus with two new videos that walk you through the process of setting up a study manuscript and using the Interlinear reference in Blue Letter Bible to understand the original Greek or Hebrew meanings of words in your Bible (without needing to study Greek or Hebrew).
- I loaded the second edition Paperback and Workbook on a site that will let your favorite local bookstore order the book and deliver it to you (so you can get physical copies without going through Amazon).
I started the process back in December, and it’s taken until now to get through all the steps.
And I’m not done.
One of the reasons why I did this is so that I can release an audio book version. Having the study of Titus embedded in the book made an audiobook unrealistic. But now that it’s been moved to the email study, I feel free to move ahead with that. So look for more news from me.
Above I’ve given you the links to the major updated resources in this email. I hope you will download them and use them for your own study.
However I have 2 asks.
- If you haven’t gotten the book, I heartily recommend it. You can find it here on Amazon, or on your favorite ebook retailer – and now by request in your local book store. It’s better than it’s ever been before and I think it will significantly impact your spiritual life.
- If you went through the first edition, but didn’t find the study of Titus in the last 4 chapters compelling, check out the brand new email study of Titus here. You will never lose out studying God’s word. And this will be a short 6 week journey that will pay eternal spiritual dividends.
I’ve got more great books planned in this series. But these will have to wait for another time to share.
Meanwhile I wish you a very happy Bible study in 2023!
Dennis
