Reader Ian responded to last week’s e-mail and asked, “What about your new book? is it finished yet or when will it be available to buy?”
Well, this is where I failed. I thought I could get it all wrapped up and out this weekend. I was hoping to use this email as the “it’s available” announcement.
I failed.
The book is Study the Bible: Old Testament. Its an adaptation of the Six Easy Steps Bible study method to apply to an Old Testament book.
I thought I had the full manuscript all written and I just needed to tie up some loose ends.
Nope.
I was working on the companion study of Ruth, getting all my guided resources put together and I realized that I was missing a whole chapter in the book. Things I did in the practical study that the book didn’t even talk about.
I’m pleased to say that the missing chapter is written and all the chapters have been adapted to make it fit perfectly.
So now I’m down to “loose ends” (sound familiar?).
I think I’m close enough that I can tell you where to get it next weekend when I write to you.
So I’m sorry (especially to Ian).
But let me tell you, this is going to be a really cool release!
- I will be launching the book in ebook and print formats.
- I will be launching a guided study of the book of Ruth that allows you to practice what you learn and get support while you do it.
- There will be a study template you can download to get the exact framework to use on any one of 15 different books of the Old Testament. Literally it sets you up to go crazy with your own Bible study.
- I’ve created a workbook for the Ruth Study that walks you through, gives you support and encouragement and the exact framework you need at every step of the way through this guided study.
- I made the guided study self-paced. If you’ve ever done my online studies they are pretty rigidly paced. One study unit per week. I can imagine that a lot of life can happen along the way of a 6 week study, so now you have the ability to pause your study or move at a slower pace and I won’t overrun you with emails.
- I’ve also got the ability to sell the print books off my website. That’s a HUGE advantage to you because the printer I work with does spiral bound bindings! Yes, this means your workbooks will open and lay completely flat! Amazon doesn’t do that.
I’ve already make the Workbooks for Study the Bible – Six Easy Steps and Getting To Know God’s Word spiral bound on my website, so it’s getting very exciting for me!
So when I say I’m tidying up details, these are the kinds of things I’m working on.
And I’m hopeful that next week I’ll be able to wrap everything up.
ALSO, I finished listening to the Relentlessly Biblical Podcast episode with my interview. It was really weird to hear my own voice in my headphones. Very weird.
But it was a great interview and a ton of fun. I think we had 2 times where the computer overheated in the middle and once where they actually had to reboot it. I thought the final result came off where you can’t even tell when that might have happened.
Here’s the link if you want to listen:
, do you listen to podcasts? Do you like any Christian podcasts? Reply to this email and share your favorite with me. Perhaps I could get on and do an interview there as well.
Until next week,
Blessings!
Dennis
