Somewhere in the last year, you’ve downloaded one of my resources. That’s awesome and I hope your spiritual walk has been enriched.
But today is completely different!
Have you ever wondered what life is like for the Angels? How do they get their assignments? What do they do while they are waiting? Do they always know what to do when they are on-task?
I’ve written a short story that imagines just that. Step into the Angelic Dispatch Center as the angel Amariel receives an assignment that may well be more than he can handle.
I’m giving away the story. You can click this link to download a free copy. I just want to know one thing: Do you like it? Should I consider writing more fiction stories about angels?
From my side, it’s been a blast to write this tale. I’ve really enjoyed imagining angel culture and the bureaucracy that makes the heavenly realm tick. I don’t know if that’s how it really is… but it’s a fun .
As with Jesus Above All, I got the initial inspiration for this story while singing a song in church. The song was O Praise The Name (Anástasis). When I got to the line
The angels roar for Christ the King
It just hit me. What would an arena of angels sound like when Jesus showed up? How would they roar? Would the ground shake? Would my ears hurt?
That’s the initial idea that got me thinking about this story. Imagining the angels roar drew me into the angelic realm and started me thinking about the idea of the story.
Here’s the link again. It will take you to a site called BookFunnel where you can download the story to your favorite e-reader (for free).
Give it a read. It’s a short story (33 pages if I printed it out on regular paper). Then let me know what you think. Should I add fiction to my writing mix?
I can’t wait to hear from you!
Dennis
PS. My next non-fiction project is a book about knowing and doing the will of God… Provided I don’t get interrupted too much by fiction.
