Without breaking a sweat.
Stop and think of billions of prayers and billions of answers. What would be the effect on the world in terms of illness healed, lives turned around, marriages restored and souls saved?
It would be huge. It could change the course of countries and communities all over the globe.
The most amazing power in the universe is literally on the tip of our tongues. Yet too often we let it go to waste.
Didn’t Jesus Himself say “If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.” (John 14:14).
Thats not for selfish prayers. But prayers where our prayers express the character and nature of God (the Bible says “according to His will”).
Here’s the offer. Thursday May 6 is National Day of Prayer. If there is ever a day when we could all get behind praying together that’s it. If your nation doesn’t celebrate it, you feel free to join with me anyway.
I am committing to pray every hour, at the top of the hour for at least a quarter of the hour from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Pacific Daylight Savings / GMT-7:00). I want to bathe the entire day in prayer. I want my day to be all about prayer.
Will you join me?
You don’t have to do it every hour. I would encourage you to find at least two (2) hours during the day and pray. If you pray at the top of the hour for 15 minutes, you and I will be in the Throne Room of God at the same time.
Then send me an email and let me know that you did it. Tell me what hour it was. We can celebrate our membership in this great body of the church together.
I’m asking you to do this. Start planning now. Set aside the time (I took the day off work so I would be free to do this). Put it on your calendar if you need to (actually that’s a great idea).
