Any pet-friends out there?
I’m definitely a pet-guy. As a young man growing up, I had a goal of “a wife, a house and a dog.” And I’ve been blessed to see all three dreams come true.
The house and the wife are doing fantastic. But it’s been a sad week on the pet front. We had to say “goodbye” to Asher after almost 13 years. It’s definitely the “end of an era.”
It was sad, I’ve shed some tears. But I’ve also appreciated 100 happy memories. Now it’s interesting to discover all the ways that I miss him. From the routine of the “treats” (aka medications) every morning, to the way that he followed me around the house to the odd toy I’ve unexpectedly discovered. Everywhere I turn, I’m reminded of of him. And while it makes me emotional, there is deep joy in the memory.
Relationships are like that. They sort of seep into you. In ways that you take for granted – until it’s gone. Then you realize what the connection really meant and how powerful it was.
At the end of the day, relationships matter.
That’s why I’m happy to share a friend with you: Cara Ray. Cara and I go to Christ Church in the greater Phoenix AZ area. She’s an author, a podcaster and an online Christian community leader. I’m proud to know her.
We are both a part of an infrequent writers group called “Chi Rho Writers”, centered around faith and church.
Cara is in the process of releasing her first book. And I’m really excited to share it with you. The release date is coming soon in early 2026, BUT she has released the first chapter for free on her website.
Her book: Rest for the Soul: The Gift of Holy Leisure feels custom-written for today’s Christian. We need rest. We need prayer. We need joy. And that’s exactly the connection Cara wants to show you.
You can get the free chapter here.
I encourage you to invest in your spiritual life by clicking and getting your free chapter. I strongly believe in supporting Christian authors who are showing us how to build our faith ever stronger and more God-dependent.
Cara Ray’s The Pursuit of Holy Leisure offers a transformative path from duty to delight in your relationship with God. With practical wisdom and heartfelt stories, Cara helps you rediscover joy in Scripture and prayer, making every day an opportunity to experience God’s presence and rest.
I don’t know how long she will keep this free offer. So I encourage you to click now and take a moment to invest in yourself in the best possible spiritual way.
I strongly endorse Cara as someone who will speak truth and God’s love into your life. But you have to take the step to receive it.
Thanks for being along for the ride. Sometimes it’s easy. Other times it’s hard. Always, it’s meant to glorify God.
Your friend,
Dennis
